After taking classes from a number of different Spanish teachers, I found SpanishinSitges and her Director Gloria Pedraza just over a year ago, and will never search for another teacher again. Gloria was able to teach me basic grammatical structures and vocabulary that were important to use in everyday situations and in normal conversation with friends. Yes, Spanish friends, I have a mountain of them! And I only have Gloria to thank for enabling me to communicate within the community which has enormously eased our transition to living here and assimilating with the culture. Gloria teaches in a way that holds my interest through the lesson and after each class allows me to speak “poco a poco” better each day. Lessons are relevant to everyday life and she gives us the opportunity to use what we’ve learned by going on field trips that give us the opportunity to speak with locals in an environment that is safe and friendly. She has arranged for us to go on a sailing trip, art exhibition, and a tour of Sitges. Not to mention guest speakers who have introduced us to art and music. Gloria is not only concerned with teaching us how to speak properly but also cares about us as individuals. She is aware what is going on in our daily lives, knows our family members and the names of our pets. I not only respect Gloria as my teacher but look at her as a friend and care for her very much as well.
